Branch/Unit Assistant Director

Position Description:
Job Title: Branch/Unit Assistant Director
Hourly Salary: $9.75 - $13.00+ (depending on club site ,education and experience)
Hours per week: full-time, part-time 40/30/25 hours per week, some evenings/weekends

Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Branch/Unit Director, the assistant manages all finances, program services, facilities and staff of a Branch/Unit Clubhouse. Assists with community relations and membership administration are also an important part of daily operations.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the day to day operation of the before and after school program
  • Assists with maintaining payroll percentage and club budget
  • Supervises all staff members to create a harmonious and efficient working environment
  • Interacts with parents, keeping them informed, answering questions, and dealing with concerns
  • Maintenance and ordering or program supplies, food, equipment, and other necessary materials
  • Participates in hiring and evaluation of staff members with verbal and written documentation
  • Participates in evaluation of staff members with verbal and written documentation
  • Maintains a safe and orderly program environment by arranging for repair/replacement of equipment and regular cleaning of program areas
  • When asked, represents the program in various community and/or agency meetings
  • Assists with direction, planning and scheduling of program curriculum
  • Plans and facilitates two monthly staff meetings
  • Provides accurate and timely information on program operation to governing agency
  • Continues his/her own professional growth through reading, workshop participation, or other appropriate means

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate of Arts or equivalent in Child Development or related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with school age children in a group supervision setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adult staff and parents, preferably in a supervisory capacity
  • Established skills in communication, both written and verbal
  • Access to a car, possessions of a valid driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance

    Skills Preferred:

  • Some club sites require bilingual capabilities (Spanish and Vietnamese)
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Word Perfect and other software programs
  • Business and customer service experience an asset
