To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove have been providing positive places for children to go during non-school hours, particularly when there is no adult at home, since 1956 - long before the word "latchkey" became a part of our vocabulary!

Currently, we administer five school-age centers year-round: Main Branch, Edgar Kids Club Branch, Stanford Kids Club Unit, Patton Kids Club Branch, and Clinton Kids Club Branch. These sites serve more than 1,200 boys and girls (5 -17 years old) every day, from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Evening and weekend activities are provided for teens.

Our Family Campus, provides licensed toddler and preschool childcare and school readiness for more than 100 children daily, as well as enrichment programs, computer center and a Family Resource Library. Families can also come to us when they are in crisis, through our Family and Youth Outreach services located at Garden Grove's Juvenile Justice Center and the Truancy Reduction Center at Hare High School. These programs are designed to accommodate the special needs of our community, offering a referral program, truancy reduction services, parent education classes, family support, juvenile offender education, drug education, and individual and family counseling.

We continue to expand upon our collaboration with Garden Grove Unified School District to provide After School Enrichment Programs at ten additional school sites and REACH for Literacy (Reading Education for Adults and CHildren) English language instruction for parents, offering language instruction and homework assistance to children 2 years old to 8th grade. REACH hopes to increase the literacy in the home, empowering parents as their child's first and most important role models.

Our partnership with Children's Hospital of Orange County, Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County, and The Children and Families Commission of Orange County to bring needed pediatric medical and dental services to children. BGCGG will offer the ARCHES (Access to Resources, Counseling, Health, Education and Support) program at the health center focusing on child counseling and family support. ARCHES will enhance and complement the traditional children's health service delivery model by expanding assessments beyond the physical to ensure the needs of the whole child are met.

We provide much more than quality supervision at an affordable cost; character-building, education, and enrichment opportunities are recurrent themes in all of our core programs. Orange County (central O.C., specifically) leads the nation in the need for care for children, as dictated by the high cost of housing, the large percentage of single-parent families, and the increasing number of immigrant families. Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove is a leading advocate for quality programs to meet this critical need.

We realize that our role is important in today's world, because families truly depend on us to take an active part in their children's lives. This means that in addition to teaching arts and crafts, cooking and sports, we must teach socialization and living skills in a positive and nurturing environment, and provide homework assistance and academic support to assure success in school and in life.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove is a proud member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which serves more than 4.4 million children at over 4,300 club locations in the United States and abroad.
